California Nurses Association/NNOC Director Rose Ann DeMoro Named to Healthcare’s 100 Power List – 8th Straight Year
She's done it again. For the eighth straight year, California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee Executive Director Rose Ann DeMoro has won national recognition as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.”
DeMoro came in at number 35 on the list, which is dominated by government officials and corporate executives and is compiled by Modern Healthcare, a nationally-known Chicago-based healthcare industry news weekly.
Notably, DeMoro, executive director of the nation's largest union and professional association of registered nurses, is one of only 12 people – one of only two women and the only labor person – to make the list every year the poll has been taken.
"Those (12) names don't just appear on our annual list. You can find them in nearly every issue of Modern Healthcare making news trying to improve healthcare for patients, their organizations and their constituencies," wrote Modern Healthcare editor David Burda.
Nearly half a million votes were cast, said Modern Healthcare. Overall, more than 25,000 people were nominated for the list.
"We are incredibly proud to see Rose Ann recognized and honored year after year after year," said CNA/NNOC Co-President Deborah Burger, RN. "It's a testimonial to her leadership, her values, and her vision that have guided CNA/NNOC, inspired nurses and patients across the country, and are helping us build a powerful, national nurses movement."
