"The CPMC master plan aims to downsize St. Luke’s Hospital and provide a lower level of care to low-income residents in southern San Francisco, to build a mega-hospital at the corner of Geary and Van Ness — and to create a healthcare monopoly, raise insurance costs for everyone, and dump unprofitable services onto the strained taxpayer-funded safety net. And it wants to do this despite the vocal objections of nurses, caregivers, patients, and neighborhoods all across the city.
"If CPMC is permitted to implement this master plan, San Francisco will pay the price. But it’s not too late. CPMC’s development plans have not yet been approved by City Hall, so we can make our voices heard. The Board of Supervisors may vote on the proposal later this year."
